They have plant where the product is produced and is then sent to their clients via a 3PL firm. The company relies on zoho for their invoicing and Inventory management and excel sheets to calculate demand. They currently want to understand which flavours sell where, so that they can plan their production around such insights

The company needs to stay competitive as new brands will soon make their way into the market. To maintain a first mover advantage the company needs to understand its consumers and their purchase patterns to make faster and better decisions on what to produce, what to stock and what to sell more of. The company finds it difficult to understand how their product is consumed by their end users and wants to forecast demand so that they can optimise their production cycles

Solution

Demand Forecasting

The company created an account on syntactic’s platform and were immediately able get started without any difficulty.

They were able to upload the sales data in CSV and connected their Zoho arm data via an API. Now they could understand order history from outlets and connect it to sales from that outlet.

By adding alternate data sources like weather data, outlet size, outlet location parameters, they team were able to find patterns and correlations between sales patterns and weather and other parameters.

All the data made available in one place made it extremely simple to build models to predict demand based on various parameters. These predictions were run every month and provided the team useful information to run their operations more smoothly and increase revenue.

Customer Feedback Analysis

Review data from their social pages, feedback campaigns and offline feedback data from the restaurants were added to the platform via various CSVs and APIs.

The code engine was configured to run a text vectorisation to identify specific keywords associated with each flavour. The sentiment per flavour was also calculated. This gave the team granular insights on the flavour profiles of their customers and what flavours were popular as well as what flavours could be improved.

Visualise Business Operations

Once all the data sources were added to synctactic, The platform indexed it and was ready to search and visualise important business metrics.

A dashboard was created where the company could visualise orders from outlets connect it to the delivery API data to see delivery status. The sales per outlet could be visualised and predicted sales provided the team with insights to plan their production.

Customer feedback data was fed in scheduled intervals and realtime social signals provided the team with insights on new flavour launches and flavour improvements in new batches.

Outcome

With a simple to use tool, the company was able to build models to predict future demand of their beverage. Not only did this help plan production but also helped discover patterns how various parameters affect the sales of their product. The dashboards helped the company stay upto date with the supply chain events and were able to react better to any issues and plan all their operations much more efficiently.
